Change can influence someone’s life. It can change something for the better or worse. It may allow someone to step out of their boundaries. It also forces someone to look at a different perspective. It stops someone from being someone that they were before; therefore, the character changes, which is known as a dynamic character. Change can be positive or negative.

Change can be positive because it can make someone’s life better. In the short story Zebra, Adam Zebrin had broken his leg and hand by running. He had hung around the fence during midmorning recess, which was where he met John Wilson. Change can be negative because it can make someone’s life worse, less adventurous, or lacking excitement. Again, in All Summer In A Day, as stated previously, the sun had interluded the rain. But before that happened, Margot had claimed that she knew what the sun looked like. The other children did not believe her, since they only had very vague memories of the sun. Because they didn’t believe her - thinking that the sun wasn’t even real at all - they locked Margot in a closet. Since Margot was in a closet, she had missed the sun coming out. Moreover, in Zebra, Zebra breaks his hand and leg. Before, he could run freely, with the wind on his face, the way he liked to run. However, after the incident, he could not do that anymore. That was because one day, while running, he injured himself. His doctors told him that he, Zebra, could not run as fast as he did before ever again. His leg healed eventually, but the hand did not heal as quick as the leg did. In fact, it even hurt from time to time. He didn’t play with the other kids either at midmorning recess; instead, he stood by the fence, where he met Mr. Wilson. Zebra also had peculiar fevers at random times. Zebra, a story about a boy who had broken his hand and leg by running, certainly had its negative aspects.
