Change is something that needs to be accepted in our day to day lives. Through out time everything surrounding us is changing. It is the people who can accept change that will become more successful. Racism occurs in our day to day life. Often you can hear racial comments even while walking down a school hallway.
Change. Change is an ordinary process in life that allows humans to evolve as individuals, societies, and as a species. Yet, not all changes are the same. Not all changes are equal. The effect of getting a new job is different than the effect of losing a job.
The biggest change I had to make was having to sacrifice a lot of time for my career. I have to train everyday to better myself and this causes me to miss spending time with my friends. The largest sacrifice of time that I have to make is in the summer. I spend most of my vacation traveling to different tournaments and camps, and I miss out on a lot of the fun stuff my friends are able to do. Committing has also affected my life because I always have to watch what I do and say because I am represent the Mississippi State Baseball Team.
Change is scary. No one knows for sure when a change in their life will occur or if they will like the change. Change seems so random that people may feel like they do not have control over their life like it is a game of Russian roulette. And sometimes, in an act of unadulterated fear, people can feel helpless and option less. They can feel they have nothing to lose and may resort to unhealthy thoughts and habits.
The Atomic Bomb at Hiroshima The United States used the atomic bomb at Hiroshima in August of 1945 during World War II. They were the first and only nation to ever use an atomic weapon during war time. The explosion wiped out about 90 percent of the city, 80 thousand people were killed and many more passed away due to radiation exposure.
Stress can make smart people do stupid things- it hinders an important part of the brain that influences your decision-making. So its no surprise that upperclassmen tend to look down upon freshmen, whose minds are not for, but against them. Separating the freshman class from the high school community can help put less stress on the minds of the students and ease the transition from middle school life to high school life. The transition from middle school to high school can be challenging. High school is a unfamiliar environment with different and new people.
The first change I made was my major. I started to major in Global and International Studies with a focus in African development. This was so that the classes I took in college would be directly applicable to my intended field. I took the GRE and applied (and got accepted) to public policy graduate programs because I understand that my undergraduate education is not enough to equip me with the skills I need to make a difference in people’s lives. I became involved in the Undergraduate Student Government as a senator and took up more important roles in organizations like the African Student Association and the LGBTQ Alliance.
The way I’ve changed in high school wasn’t really a major change. I did change my academic and I made new friends. When I was in middle school my grades weren’t really that pretty, but now my grades I’ve been really good and getting better each day. At first I thought my grades were going to be like middle school; in high school it’s a different story the teachers go the extra mile to help their students pass.
Change hosts of multitude of amazing opportunities–an opportunity to learn and grow, an opportunity for new beginnings and finally an opportunity way to improve life. Change should be looked upon as an opportunity instead of a threat. I was one of those many individuals that created a barrier from change and chose to hide. My outlook on change was entirely altered upon my transfer to a new school. Change made me a better and happier human being.

High school has impacted my life in so many ways. High School taught me so many things, from personal relationships to creating a relationship with my education. As a freshman, I made a huge amount of mistakes and I regret doing foolish things, but I’ve realized, I was only maturing into the young adult I am today. Freshman year, I was out of focus and I was only trying to find myself. I would also prioritize other things and ignore my parent’s advice, where they would tell me to focus in school and give it my full attention.
I learned that any barrier you face there is always an option to overcome it and be successful. I can grow by working my hardest on my school work and never giving up, even when things get hard. I also learned that time management is a very great skill to obtain at this time in my life, because college courses take time, effort, and lots of patience. I must give myself time to prepare for class work and especially exams. Having a schedule for my school work and my personal life is the best choice to help me stay on track.
Change is inevitable in education as in all areas . Shifting perspectives within education and efforts of reform within it can be considered as educational change . The process of adapting or becoming used to the new ideas and meeting the needs of educational change require considerable efforts. This educational change can be a threat, opportunity, problem or neutral depending on our viewpoint.
High school grows you into the person you are. I have great memories, good and bad, some learning experiences and some that I’ll take with me the rest of my life. My high school experience has influenced my development as a person inside and outside of the class by making me more independent, choosing friends wisely and teachers motivating me to attend college and accomplish goals I have set for myself. I have gained my independence slowly throughout high school. The importance of being independent is being secure with who you are and what you believe in.
School is a learning curve experience for some people because they notice a lot of changes around them and they are
