Dylan’s dad was informed that there was a shooting at the school. He thought he school might have been involved which he was. Many students and teachers had called and informed that the shooters were Dylan and Eric. Chapters 20-34 The day after the shooting they went into the school and found body everywhere. There was a photo of Danny’s body laying on the lawn in front of the school.
There were two students who were standing by Mrs. Smith at the time of the shooting, but police have not opened up as to whether the students were shot directly or hit by shrapnel. But there was one student who had to soon be airlifted to the nearest hospital. Eight-year old, Jonathan Martinez, shortly died after he arrived at the hospital. There was also a nine-year old who was injured in the crossfire, but is in stable condition as of now (Bloom).
At about 9:30, when he first arrived at school, Adam Lanza sprayed bullets at the glass in one of the doors, and then he walked through the opening the bullets created. The school principal, Dawn Hoschusburg, and school psychologist, Mary Scherlach burst into the hall after hearing the gunshots. Adam Lanza shot and killed them, and headed
and she took cover in a room and hid from the shooter. Matthew Downing got lucky he was in his college and the shooter entered the classroom armed and said one of you will be the lucky one who will not die and it was Matthew Downing who was the lucky one. It turned out that he wanted Matthew to give a letter to the police
It is approximated that the first calls to the police department were at around 9:30 am. The shots heard primarily occurred in two first-grade classrooms. In the first classroom targeted by Adam, all the students were shot and killed. Once the scene was cleared, officers found the bodies of 14 students huddled together in the bathroom in an attempt to hide from the shooter. In the next classrom, Adam barged through the door and began shooting the students and their teacher.
They all narrate and are the protagonist in their own story, and they all three by the end of the book go through a coming of age in character and maturity. Examples of this can be seen when Esperanza encounters sexual assault from a homeless person with her friend Rachel, when Melinda gets raped by Andy Evans, and when Scout comes to age about hatred and prejudice from the rape case against Tom Robinson. The three young girls are always facing trouble in their daily life that helps them develop. Esperanza for example comes in contact with sexual assault caused by a homeless person while with her friend Rachel. Melinda gets sexually assaulted by Andy Evans.
They found out that the shooters were Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Eric Harris was 18. Dylan Klebold was 17. These two boys were bullied all the time by most of the school. Also they were the social outcast of the school.
The narrators in this story change throughout the story. The point of view of each chapter transition from one person to the next. The main two narrators are David and Caroline, but Norah’s story is told as well. The arrangement is set up where each character tells their story in each time period. The story starts in 1964, but increases until both Phoebe and Paul, her twin, are full grown.
