Once the storm was over everyone including the trunk was washed ashore on an island. The island had a giant crocodile and hostile natives. Everyone split up on the island to find the trunk. Alf, a sailor, is with the other boys and Peter and Molly are together. Little Richard and Slank, from the Never Land, are by themselves and the pirates are together.
Into The Wild was a tremendous story which Shaun Callarman did not have many positive things to say about Chris McCandless, the main character. He went on this adventure to find out what life is all about in his own eyes. He wanted to see how different living in the wild really was compared to society because he was not satisfied with his living arrangements and household. Shaun’s quote says that he thinks “Chris McCandless was bright and ignorant at the same time. He had no common sense, and he had no business going into Alaska with his Romantic silliness.
In the movie Simon Birch, we learn many aspects from the main character relating to our SPIES unit. The Main character Simon Birch was born the smallest baby of Grapeville in recorded history. When he was born, the doctors believed Simon would only be alive for days or a weeks at maximum, because of a undersized heart. Mr and Mrs. Birch didn’t care for Simon and carried on in their normal daily lives. Believing their son would pass away.
One Tree Hill is a teen drama/romance television series that aired between the years 2003 and 2012. This show can appeal to teenagers and young adults, and is a very plot driven show that easily appeals to these age groups. Throughout this fictional town, each character has hardships and deals with sensitive issues, such as sexual intercourse, drugs, marriage, adoption, affairs, conflicts etc. What people do not understand is that this series shows realistic events that could occur in high school, and that it also talks about serious problems that teens deal with in their everyday lives.
All of the boys life have fallen apart, and lives have been taken. The school boys, are not school boys anymore. The schoolboys have lost their innocence on the island. Many lives have been taken, the mama pig, Piggy, Simon, and almost Ralph.

Being on the island everyone is contsantly faced with the fear of the unknown the younger boys need someone to protect them from the fears on the island. Although nothing manages to scare the boys as much as the beastie does. When a little boy with a mullberry birthmark informs everyone that he has seen a beastie. The older boys emitiatly belive its his imagination but even later in the novel the boys start to question the exsitance of the beast. After the killing of simion, jack is belives ut was simon disguised as the beast, and that the beast is not dead.
Annabelle McBride, the main protagonist in Lauren Wolk’s Wolf Hollow, is forced to grow up in several harsh situations. In the novel, Annabelle witnesses unjust deaths and is forced to act alone when she is fighting to prove the innocence of Toby Jordan. He is a reclusive war hero, who some think is a mad man. He is being convicted for pushing Betty Glengarry, the antagonist of the novel, into a well. When Annabelle goes to Toby’s smokehouse in an effort to find him, when she blames herself for Betty’s death, and when Annabelle’s brother Henry gives Annabelle time to process in a hard time -- they are forced to grow up before they are ready.
At first, Sam and Eric’s job on the island is to keep the fire lit. But Jack and the hunters try to influence Sam and Eric to help them hunt, abandoning the fire. The twins
They want to be rescued, as they delegate tasks at first, however, the story unfolds in a way that shows the savage and iniquitous side of humans as the boys become less civilized. They become less logical, and the little ones start to think there is a beast on the island, which causes them to kill their friend, Simon, thinking he was the beast. They are constantly stressed out and their behaviors change as the story progresses.
According to Victor and Edith Turner, a liminoid pilgrimage is a “[rite] of transition marked by three phases: separation, limen or margin, and aggregation” (p. 2). In Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods, all of the characters go to the woods and take part in those same three phases outlined by the Turners. They learn lessons on their journey and come out as changed people that barely resemble the characters in the traditional stories. In this way, Into The Woods is the musical liminoid pilgrimage of classic storybook characters.
The seven survivors face their most daunting challenge: surviving on the deserted island until they are rescued. This is the story which has consumed much of my time outside of school but I find that it helps to ease the stress of my in school hours. The slapstick humor and outlandish circumstances of survival energize my spirit regardless of my situation in the continuum of life.
The group of six works together to plan escapes and survive with the knowledge of catastrophic results. The six character’s desire to escapes and decisions demonstrates the theme that failures may lead to drastic changes in one or many lives.
Valerie Lammers 3rd hour What is valued in different societies, depends on what traits someone has, that the people of that society think affect them in a positive way, and deserve be valued. Some societies may like their heroes to be humble and brave, while another society may dislike arrogance and disloyalty, it just depends on the time period of that society. What might be valued in one society, might not be valued in another because people in different time periods valued different things. Rick Riordan’s text, The Sea of Monsters, demonstrates that gender equality and humility are valued in the 21st century, whereas in “The Odyssey” by Homer, the text demonstrates that arrogance and disloyalty were not valued in ancient Greece.
The findings section shows that there are six magical events that mainly influence the development of the main character in the novel Howl’s Moving Castle. These magical events influence the development of the main character by applying the laws of magic which portray certain functions of fantasy. The magic laws that ultimately influence the development of the main character are limitation and consistency. In terms of functions of fantasy, the findings show that there is a function that dominates the main character’s development, which is recovery.
