The American Revolution marked the history of many heroic events that immaculately stand as true inspirations for the generations to come in the United States. Even today, the gallantry of a few soldiers that won independence for the country is not only kept in the hearts of the people but run in the American blood to demonstrate acts of valor at times of war and hardships. One such story recorded in the history dates back to 1776, about a sixteen-year old juvenile, Joseph Plumb Martin, joined the Rebel Infantry and recorded his tribulations about forty-seven years in a memoir titled as “A Narrative of a Revolutionary Soldier”. The book mainly focuses on the sufferings through the tough situation he went through.
Johnny, Dove, and Dusty are all apprentices training to become silversmiths, their master is Mr.Lamphan who is married to Mrs.Lamphan and they have have four daughters Isannah, Cilla, Dorcas, and Madge. Johnny Tremain is a 14 year old boy who has been serving the Lamphan’s for two years. He is rather skinny and is already determined to marry Cilla when their older, after Johnny has served for 7 years. Johnny is hardworking and reliable many people like him except him and Dove don’t get along. Then a wealthy man by the name of Hancock comes to ask the silversmiths to fix his Sugar Basin for his wife that Mr. Lamphan had originally made.
People tend to be judged by how others perceive them to be, rather than how they actually are. This statement is shown in the play, Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. Holden thought about James Castle when Phoebe asked him about what he likes, Holden randomly think about the two nuns and James Castle, but this is not a coincidence. James Castle is a Holden’s classmate at Elkton Hills, whom died nobly, not surrendering to Phil Stabile and his six friend’s oppression and violence about taking the word back about Stabile. Similarly, Holden seize the adult world with phoniness, and struggle though out his teenager life, willing to sacrifice himself to save children from falling into this phoniness world. Readers understand the significance about Holden’s worship to James Castle and is motivated by his action, but Holden sees very limited information about the significance between himself and James
Cleaning houses are a girl’s best friend. Or is it diamonds? In The Dirt Diary, by Anna Staniszewski, the main character, Rachel Lee, must clean houses with her mother in order to pay back the money that she stole until her mom finds out about her purchase. Rachel uses the money to buy a one way ticket to Florida, where her father ran off to, to bring him home.
On Saturday, March 23 the Sierra Leone army came under attack from rebel forces from within the country called the Revolutionary United Front (RUF), a ruthless group of soldiers led by a former army Sierra Leone corporal, Foday Sankoh. They would do anything to gain control of the country including the enlistment of child soldiers, and they had the upper hand until the army followed their strategy and drafted children themselves (Fyfe and Davidson). Many of the child soldiers suffered a lot of physical and psychological trauma from the war including a young boy named Ishmael Beah. In A Long Way Gone, Beah’s recounting of his experiences in the war, portrays the loss of innocence and hope in child soldiers due to the effects of war.

Self-perception is an element of behavior, and can be described as imperfect self-knowledge. Our self-image is created by society, its expectations, and the influence of others around us. Through the years, society has created conjectures that we need to meet in order to be accepted by others.
Dally, a record with the police a mile long and Johnny, no record with the police at all, you would think they would be very different but that are also very alike. Johnny and Dally are both the same in a way for example, they both have abusive and neglectful parents. “His father was always beating him up, and his mother ignored him, and then you could hear her yelling at him clear down at our house”(12). Johnny’s dad abuses him and his mom ignores him.
After writing that essay for English, I’ve realized that I’m not okay about the deaths of Johnny and Dally. I’m not used to not having them around anymore, I think the other guys are doing okay, but I can’t handle this. I wrote my essay on the memories and important events that occurred when Johnny and Dally were still here. I wrote about the rumble, I wrote when Cherry and I first met, and, I wrote when Johnny was killed after the incident at the church.
Character- Carl Grimes from The Walking Dead Carl Grimes, while not the main character, is a very important character in the show, The Walking Dead. From the first ever episode to present, he has helped shape the show, and also has helped develop many other characters as well as himself. Carl begins the show as an innocent and normal child, but as the new world forces him to grow up, he becomes more and more callous. Eventually though, upon reflection, Carl regains his morality while still keeping his edge for survival.

In Ezekiel Johnson by Walter Dean Myers, the main character, Ezekiel, is homeless and is given money to move, which he buys coats to donate with all the money, and is interviewed numerous times because of what he had done.

Stephanie Plum, Morelli, and Ranger are three main characters in the book, One for the Money, by Janet Evanovich. Stephanie is a young woman struggling to get by in the city of Trenton, New Jersey. After losing her job, she goes against her family’s request and gets the dangerous job of a bounty hunter. She gets assigned Joe Morelli, who was accused of murder and who happened to be a childhood enemy. Stephanie is very inexperienced and receives help from a professional bounty hunter, Ranger.
Forrest is also a sympathetic man, especially when he became a father. He notices his disability and is aware of his own limitations, he knew that his son would be much smarter than he does, but he still tries his best to support his son, such as trying his best to read story books (e.g. Curious George) to his son. American people at that time are often prejudiced, especially at the race perspective. However, Forrest is not prejudiced and judgment, he sees people regardless of their gender, race, age, and religion. This is demonstrated in the movie through his relationship with Jenny, he always accepts her for whom she is, he sees past the predicaments Jenny is in, for example when Jenny was singing in a club naked.
Forgiveness is the action or process of forgiving or being forgiven. (Hawkins, 1994, P. 206) My personal understanding of the parable ‘The Prodigal Son” is that it portrays the importance of reasoning and forgiveness. The main characters in the parable are two sons and a betrayed father. The father remains constant throughout the parable, although he has being betrayed by his younger son.
