Character Analysis: The Long Lankin

“But even with his death, this was a tale that wouldn't have no ending . . . not now, not ever . . . no ending . . .” (pg.355). This quote represents the fact that once evil has been risen, it is extremely difficult to put an end to it. Although the Long Lankin had been killed once, he had come back as an even more cruel form of his past human self; he was now a horrifying creature who killed children. This theme can be placed into the thought of our everyday lives as when something bad happens to us, it takes time for the effect of it to fade, but when it does, it always stays with us even if it's only in the back of our minds.
