Exceptional leaders are those who are willing to go the distance to see the outcome. Additionally, having the character trait of selflessness as well as empathy. Percy Jackson is the most responsible leader because of his altruism and the trustworthy personality he has.
In the Odyssey, Odysseus established himself as an effective leader by constantly bestowing his crew with trust and confidence. When Odysseus and his crew arrived on land he had understood the trauma and pain in the men and prayed for them. Predominantly because, he saw the desire and hunger the men had, and being that the sun God’s cattle were on the island is prayed knowing that they all might not make it home. Reverting back to trust, Odysseus went through a rugged road with the God’s and trusting them wasn’t an ideal idea. He had boasted Poseidon, and in return The God of the sea made sure he wouldn’t get back home. However, when Hermes, God of thieves and travelers, insisted for his safety that he eat a poisoned planet he did so. Percy is a selfless individual and leader making him the light in the darkness. Acceptance, and putting others feelings before his own lies in his leadership. For instance, when the bull attacked Camp Halfblood Percy went into the fight wanting to help save the camp emphasis of the word help. Percy wasn’t fighting to make a proclamation for himself but to work together to defeat the threat. Admission and approval was what Percy was in search of. He seemed to be the odd one out at the camp and the ambush would've been an amazing opportunity to be selfish and strip the shine, but he
