All throughout history, mankind has always resisted the idea of an Almighty God as the Creator of the universe. The evolution theory, also known as Darwinism first came into popular belief in 1859. Charles Darwin was born in 1809 in England. He studied theology at Cambridge University yet never became a minister. He set off on the HMS Beagle in 1835 to the Galapagos Islands and while on the ship came to totally renounce the Bible and any faith he had in God. While on the Islands, Darwin noted fourteen different varieties of finches. Through this observation, he came to the conclusion that, because these finches were all of different varieties, they were evolving into different forms. He came back to England from his trip an atheist and started to put together his theory into book form. In 1859, Charles Darwin published his famous book Origin of the Species by Means of Natural Selection. In his book Darwin said “It is a truly wonderful fact…that all animals and all plants throughout all time and space should be related to each other…” He taught that every living thing was related …show more content…

The evolution of any animal or plant has never been observed. Darwin’s observation on the Galapagos Island of the fourteen different varieties of finches is not evolution but rather a variation. The finches were still birds. This is known as a mutation which is a variation within a kind but with no new information added. Often time, different varieties of dogs will be cross-breaded to form a different variation of a dog, but yet their offspring will still be a dog! Pierre-Paul Grasse says in Evolution of Living Organisms “No matter how complex they may be, mutations do not produce any kind of evolution.” Variation within a species may happen, but they are always still the same species.
