With the many levels I have seen many styles of leadership. I have seen every aspect of the Full Range leadership Theory (FRL) throughout the last 18 years in the United States Air Force (USAF). FRL encompasses seven levels of performance impact, beginning with the lasseiz-faire style at the bottom with the least impact on employee performance and spanning upward to the Inspirational motivation at the top with the most impact on subordinates. My first supervisor in the Air Force was a very laissez-faire leader. He would be around for the first 5 minutes of my shift and I wouldn’t see him again until the end of the shift right before shift change.
Successful leaders rely on their strengths in interpersonal skills to create a vision, establish a constructive climate, and build community among members of their group or organization. A major component of effective leadership is the leader’s ability to create a vision. The leader’s creation of a vision for an organization or group is paramount in establishing expectations, goals, or boundaries for members. Leaders are responsible for getting members or followers to “share [their] vision” (Northouse, 2015, p. 149).
There are few theories and concepts in the Leadership chapter. This theories and concepts explain us about how the organization runs and what type of people and talents are needed to run the organization. First theory in the chapter is Trait theories. This theories focus on the personality, characteristics and emotional intelligence to differentiate the leaders and non-leaders. In this theory, there is also some aspects from the Big Five Personality Framework such as extroversion, conscientiousness and openness to experience and also agreeableness.
Coaching- The coaching leader develops people for the future. He is the one who is able to recognize talent and how best to develop it. The leadership style works best when the leader wants to help teammates build lasting personal strengths that make them more successful overall. The coaching leader offers developmental plans, including challenging assignments that push people to cultivate new skills.

Leadership has been defined in a variety of ways, there are multiple authors and theorists who have tried to define and understand leadership, all leading to varying theories and conclusions, but one thing that is universally understood is the importance of effective leadership and how someone with good leadership skills can impact so many people around them. (Kakabadse and Kakabadse, 1999; Yukl, 2002; Northouse,2013) The main components that have been identified to play a role in leadership are relations between leader and subordinates, interaction form between leader and followers, the influence that the leader has, the way in which the leader behaves and finally a leader’s traits. (Yukl, 2002) These elements that make up a leader, are then used as building blocks to identify the way in which each specific leader deals with its followers.
The aim of this paper is to reflect on the role played by a leader when differences in culture occur. For a leader it is very important to understand the obstacles represented by culture and consequently to avoid problems that can arise.
