Chemists before knowing the formulas for chemical compounds they made a system for naming these compounds which is called nomenclature. Which gave the chemical compounds there unique names. With this system we are able to name chemical compounds such as NO2 which is nitrogen dioxide. We can also name H2SO4 which is sulfuric acid. We need a systematic method for naming compounds because everything would change by just adding,removing or substituting an atom. There is a definition for a inorganic compound it is that the compound is not organic. There is also an other general definition that defines an organic compound, which is that the compound contains carbon.There are also differences between binary compound and a polyatomic ion compound.The difference is that a polyatomic ion is when 2 or more atoms bond to one another.A binary compound is when a compound is made up of only 2 atoms and more than 2 atoms.There are also rules when it comes to naming ionic, covalent, and acids compounds. These rules are very important and it helped chemist name these compounds. For naming ionic compounds you put the cation which is named first and the anion which is named second. So basically the cation goes 1st and the anion goes 2nd. Also for naming ionic compounds,the cation of the compound will be the same as the elements name.For naming covalent compounds you put the 1st element in the compound is named first by using the elements name.When it comes to naming an acid you do not have name the cation because it will always be H+ so you don't have to name the
