Chief Red Jacket was trying to express his feelings towards freedom of religion in his speech because throughout, he explained what his “great spirit” blessed him and his people with, his spirit would've gave him positive knowledge of the white people's religion, and most importantly, how satisfied he is to worship the “great spirit”.

The white people have a book written based upon their religion. However, if the great spirit wanted them to switch religions, they would've gave them or the forefathers of the book. But, how could they even give up their religion, after being trick once. It sums up that. If the white people treated them like that, their religion must not be doing them any good nor teaching them anything. So, there behavior, was a sign of negative knowledge on the people's religion.

They believe the great spirit knows best, therefore they don't want to take away or use your religion, they want to enjoy their own because their satisfied.
