Child Labor during the Industrial Revolution Child labor began in the 1800’s during the Industrial Revolution, specifically it became widespread in the late 1750’s.It later extended to the 1800’s due to economic change in Britain. Britain had a surplus of food which led to more money, eventually they started buying industries then creating job opportunities.Shortly after poor and struggling families had to send their children to work so they could survive.During this time it wasn’t just the parents working to feed they family it was the children too.These families relied on child labor to attain vital living essentials without it families wouldn’t have been able to survive(Amack).Child labor shockingly affected and left an impact on the world creating new laws and acts. …show more content…

The deaths and injuries from the working class were as bad as the amount of money they got paid if not worse.
