What would you do if stopping childhood obesity was left in your hands? Nearly 1 in 3 children (ages 2-19) in the United States is overweight or obese. This can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes and heart failure in the future (“Learn About Our Cause”). There are a number of contributors to childhood obesity; this includes television, media, lack of daily physical activity, marketing unhealthy foods, and limited access to healthy affordable food. An organization, founded by Michelle Obama, called, “Let’s Move” abides by her mission of being “… determined to work with folks across this country to change the way a generation of kids thinks about food and nutrition.”(“Learn the Facts”). The two stakeholders have a common interest of targeting parents and children. Lunchables offers prepackaged meals with food that kids love. Kids are attracted to their meals for the packaging, variety, and food while, parents are attracted to their meals because they are quick and cheap. Lunchables has a variety of meals to choose from, such as, pizzas, hot dogs, crackers and cheese, etc. There is even a lunch package which includes, the main meal, dessert, and a drink. Parents wouldn’t be able to provide the same amount of food for a cheaper price, and it’s convenient to put in a lunchbox. The second stakeholder, Let’s Move, is passionate about healthy choices and lifestyles for kids. They a firm believer that everyone can have an impact on stopping childhood obesity. Spokeswoman, Michelle Obama, states that we should be advertising healthy food instead or marketing unhealthy food (“It’s Time to ‘Fight Back’ Against Unhealthy-Food Ads”). Let’s Move supports eating foods that are low in sugars, fat, and sodium, especially for kids. The issue with that is, wholesome foods can be pricey and some families aren't able to afford it, which leads them to purchase the non-nutritious meals, such as Lunchables. Although Let’s Move doesn’t sell food like Lucnhables does, both parties want children to have a meal that they enjoy in addition to parents being able to provide them for their kids. The compromise is accomplished when Lunchables starts providing meals that are beneficial to kids so they can enjoy a healthy lifestyle. This meets both parties priorities within their company by grabbing the attention of parents and children with their healthy affordable
