Imagine having to sit in bed all day and having your parents have to take care of you while you try to live a free life. This is the reality if you were that heavy that you couldn’t get out of bed. Some people have to deal with that every day, I hope you think about what it would be like before you try to eat too much or stress eat, also warn family and friends the outcomes of becoming obese. Have you ever seen a child that may be obese or overweight? Many children are becoming obese as the years go on. In America childhood obesity is on the rise, so people need to be informed about childhood obesity, the causes of obesity, ways to prevent becoming obese, and the outcomes of being obese. Its recommended that children and teens should participate in at least 60 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity most days of the week or every day if possible. You can set a great example. Start adding physical activity to your own daily routine and encourage your child to join you. Some examples of moderate-intensity physical activity include; brisk walking, playing tag, jump rope, playing soccer, swimming, or even dancing. Some strengths of doing these exercises are strengthening bone, decreasing blood pressure, reducing stress and anxiety, and increasing self-esteem. Also some more healthy ways are eating good food like provide plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole-grain products. Include low-fat or non-fat milk or dairy products. Choose lean meats, poultry, fish, lentils and beans for protein. Serve reasonably sized portions, encourage your family to drink lots of water. Doctors also recommend to limit sugar-sweetened beverages, sugar, sodium and saturated drinks. Remember to always try to drink more water rather than drinking soda because water is way more healthy than soda is.
