Greg Bach, the author of the article “The Parents Association for Youth Sports,” is the communications director for the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) in West Palm Beach, Florida. This organization’s goal is to increase awareness of the negative impacts parents’ actions have on children competing in sports and aims to make youth sports more enjoyable. According to Greg Bach’s article, parents whose competitiveness is out of control can cause emotional trauma to their child (Bach 16). The emotional trauma evoked is a result of the parents yelling at the pitcher, coaches, and umpires child (Bach 16). Often when the child is put in this situation they feel uncomfortable, scared, embarrassed, and pressured to meet the expectations of his or her parents (Bach 17).

If my son wants to play, it will be his decision. But I 'm definitely going to make sure he doesn 't play until he 's, maybe, 12 years old. I started at 6, and I 'm definitely not going to allow him to play at that age. Throughout the years you just continue to build up and pound your body, and bad stuff ends up happening from that” (Trotter, 2016).
In 2013, I was selected to play on the only all girls baseball team in the largest tournament for twelve year olds in the United States, Cooperstown Dreams Park in Cooperstown, New York. Baseball has always been a male dominant sport and because of that, I have always been praised for being the only girl on the all boys team. Since I was four years old, I had only played with boys. Everyone welcomed me and saw nothing wrong. However, as I grew older and know-it-all dads began coaching their sons, the same faces who welcomed me, turned their backs.
I don’t think that parents would be okay with their children throwing balls at other people. You might say that they are just playing dodgeball in gym class, but if they play it often enough it can lead to them throwing things at people outside of gym because they will think that it’s okay. As it stated in one of the articles dodgeball is totally against what they are trying to teach the

During this developmental interview, I chose to conduct an observation/interview study with my one of my cousin’s child. This child is a 4 year old girl and will be identified as “child K” in relation to her first name. Her parents had no problem letting me interview her, but I had them stay in the same room as us. The purpose of this interview was to observe the child’s physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development. I observed her behavior and gave her several tests to show how well she has progressed.
Over the past few months, the class has been discussing typical and atypical language development and the assessment and intervention of children with language delay or disorder. In line with this, the students were asked to observe children aged 0-12 years old with language problems for 2 hours. For this requirement, I went to a therapy center situated in Quezon City last November 16, from ten (10) A.M. to twelve (12) N.N. The center has multiple rooms that are used for speech therapy and occupational therapy. During my observation, two speech pathologists and two children with language disorder were sharing one speech therapy room.

For my observation, I chose my niece Chevie who is 24 months old. I thought that her birthday would be a great opportunity to observe her interactions with adults and other children her age during a festive gathering. It did not disappoint and I feel like I was able to gain significant insight into the behaviors of this age group. The observation took place at Chevie’s home with her parents, grandparents, other adult family members and friends and 5 other children approximately Chevie’s age. The home was decorated in a festive manner for an adolescent female in a Disney theme featuring Minnie Mouse.
