China and US Technology in Education The use of technology in schools in China is different than in the US. Technology in China is different than the US in several ways. In some ways technology in China is better than the US and in some ways it is worse. For example the Chinese government has more funding for technology in the Urban parts of China, but not the rural parts while technology in the US is widespread across the entire country. Technology in the US schools is insignificant compared to China and their schooling. A average of 65% of teachers in the US said technology in the US classroom needs to be improved. The technology usage in a typical US classroom is insufficient compared to what they should have. If they want to keep up with the international standards for technology in schools. Technology in Chinese Urban schools is adequate at least compared to the international standard. Though in the rural parts of China there is close to no electronic technology in rural areas. Surprisingly 75% of the urban Chinese teachers say they need more technology in the classroom. Usage of technology in US schools usually consists of researching and special assignments. the percents are 61% research, 53% special assignments, and around 30% other. (Percentages do not add up to 100%) Usage of technology in Chinese schools usually consists of of technology training and general curriculum. The percentages are 57% technology training, 53% general curriculum, and 23% other. (Percentages do not add up to 100%) An average of 45% percent of the students in the US say that the technology in their schools say that it is insignificant for what is needed 45% say it is significant and 10% say they don’t
