Everyone knows about World War II and who was fighting in the war. World War II was between the Allied Powers who had the United States, Great Britain, France, and China against the Axis Powers who had Germany, Italy, and Japan. The Soviet Union was part of the Axis Powers but when Germany betrayed them, the Soviets went to the Allied Powers. Some people may wonder how some countries got involved such as China and Japan. The Second-Sino Japanese War was the reason why China and Japan got involved. A military conflict between the two countries resulted in a war from July 7, 1937 to September 9, 1945, which was their pathway into World War II.

The war between China and Japan didn’t start immediately. Just like any war or big scale conflict, there are things that help build up to the war. Before the Second-Sino Japanese War, there were minor conflicts and fighting between the countries which started on September 18, 1931 (Wikipedia). This was six years before the actual started. Things like Japan invading China, the invasion of Manchuria by the Japanese, and the Mukden Incident was things that helped spark up the fire for war. The Communists also negotiated with the Chinese Nationalists. They were encouraged to talk to the Nationalists by Joseph Stalin, the leader of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Stalin saw the Japanese as a threat increasing on his Far Eastern boarder. To help eliminate the threat, he helped supply arms to China. Stalin wasn’t the only one who helped China though. China got help from places who had a public opinion against Japan. Aid was sent by the United States, France, and Britain.
