China and the United States have many contrasts in the education: the freedom of choice, the privacy of students and the relationship between teacher and students are obviously different. There is an enormous difference between the curriculum of China and the United States. One of the most important is whether students in China and the United States have the freedom to choose the courses. The differences in education between the two countries determine whether their course is tailored to the needs of society or based on the student's own interests. In high school, Chinese students take the same courses, mainly in the examination courses, humanities, and elective courses are few. The teacher will read all the student’s names and scores in the class. In other words, everyone will know each other’s grades and scores even if we want to hide some low scores. After a test, we have different school rankings and class ranking. When a person’s ranking is extremely high, then the teacher will praise this student to encourage everyone to obtain a better score; therefore, all these actions invariably promote students feel, their score is the only way to represent them. Opposed to China, in the United States, students’ scores and grades are private, the teacher will not discuss the grades and scores of a student in the class. No one knows the student’s grades except for student and teachers. More specifically, even though when the test is over, the teacher returns test in the class, they also choose to hide the grade and then distribute it to each student, which means that if I do not want to share my grade, no one will know my grades.
