Chlorofluorocarbon Persuasive Essay

Our world, Earth, is a useful and imperative place for a substantial sum of living organisms. Supporting life on Earth is a layer of gases surrounding the planet that is retained by Earth's gravity. When greenhouse gases are emitted into the atmosphere, it can thin this layer and cause the Sun’s ultraviolet light to become stronger and warmer. We as a race should reduce the leniency of laws about the release of pollutant's into our air, changing from coal burning because it releases carbon and use another source of energy, such as geothermal or solar. We could also plant hemp in our excess land because this form of cannabis absorbs 4 times as much CO2 than the average tree.

Air pollution is when detrimental substances are released into the …show more content…

Global warming is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth's climate. This increase in the average temperature is due to greenhouse gases being emitted into our atmosphere. The most harmful of these gases is carbon dioxide, but there are others, such as methane, that comes from sources like swamps and the waste from livestock, and chlorofluorocarbon, that’s emitted from refrigerators and air conditioning. Chlorofluorocarbons have been banned due to it’s deteriorating effects on the Earth’s ozone layer. The ozone layer or ozone shield refers to a region of Earth's stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation. When these greenhouse gases are emitted into the atmosphere, it can thin this layer and cause the Sun’s ultraviolet light to become stronger and warmer. Therefore heating the Earth. The burning of coal releases carbon into the air that would otherwise be compact under the ground. Coal is combustion-able fossil fuel because it was formed from the remains of vegetation that grew as long as 400 million years ago. It is made up of minerals, carbon and water. This substance is a big pollutive factor if it is burned because it is made of carbon and therefore releases carbon into the atmosphere. This is a reason for global warming and the average temperature is …show more content…

Deforestation is one of the largest causes of air pollution because when a considerable amount of trees are cut down in an area, then there is an increase in carbon dioxide and a shortage in oxygen. Therefore, less oxygen for us to breathe, but more carbon dioxide to settle in our atmosphere and thin the ozone layer. This is a cause of global warming, which means an increase in refrigerators and air conditioning to keep things fresh. Air conditioning and refrigerator's release a chemical called Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC). Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are nontoxic, nonflammable chemicals containing atoms of carbon, chlorine, and fluorine. Another big contributor is factories and large companies releasing and creating smog because of the increase in production. This is due to large boost in population. Overpopulation means more people, therefore more products to be made to sustain this increase. This is a tremendous concern because if there is an increase in production of merchandise then there will be more CO2 emissions, the release and build up of smog in our air, an expansion in factories needed, therefore an escalation in deforestation due to a desire for
