Most people choose to have a religion and others don’t. The two most popular religions in the world are Christianity and Islam. Among those two religions they share major similarities and a few differences. Both religions have a holy book, and are monotheistic. Some differences include when and where prayers can be made, and who the religion was originated by and what that person signifies. Although Christianity and Islam both have a holy book they are still different. The Holy Bible which is the Christians scripture, was inspired by God and Jesus Christ and was written by followers. The Quran was a message given to the last Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings be upon him) and it is believed that God Himself gave it to him. They consist of ‘Fajr’ which is the prayer before the sunrises. Then there is ‘Zuhr’ which is also known as the late afternoon prayer. The third prayer of the day is ‘Asr’ which is the the prayer before the sunsets. Not too late after is called ‘Maghrib’ and is prayed after the sunsets. Last but not least ‘Isha’ that is prayed in the late night. These are the mandatory prayers that a follower of Islam must do and was obligated to the muslims in the Quran. “So glorify Allah when you come up to the evening’ is maghrib and ‘isha’; ‘and when you enter the morning’ is fajr; ‘in the afternoon’ is ‘asr; and ‘the time when the day begins to decline’ is zuhr” (Munajjid 3). The five daily prayers can be prayed anywhere as long as it is clean. As to where christians pray the three daily prayers. “The three daily special times of prayer observance recorded in the Bible (in both the Old and New Testaments) were at: 9 A.M., 12:00 P.M. (Noon), and 3 P.M.” (Prayer Foundation 15). The three daily prayers were prescribed upon Christians in both the Old and New Testament, these prayers are not obligated upon Christians but are
