Over thousands of years ago in the Middle East there were three religions that were started. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. They were all founded by different people and they believe in different things than each other. Even though there are many differences between the three of them there are many similarities. Just like with Christianity and Islam, they have many differences and similarities with each other. Nazareth is very sacred to Christians because this is where Jesus grows up as a little boy and young adult. The Jordan River is also significant because this is the river that Jesus was baptized. The Sea of Galilee is where Jesus performs is magic. This is where Jesus performed his famous walking on water magic. This is also where he did his magic to calm the storm. Jerusalem is one of the most sacred sites for Christians because this is where Jesus was crucified and resurrected by God. The holy book of Christianity is the bible. The Kaaba is very important for Islam because it was built by Abraham and his son, they built is as a symbol of a house of God. Muhammad built the Prophet's Mosque as a command from God, Muslims cherish the mosque very much. Muslims face Al Aqsa Mosque when they pray. This mosque was the second mosque to ever be built on Earth. One of the holiest places for Islam is Mecca. Mecca was declared a site of pilgrimage by the prophet Muhammad. The holy book of Islam is the Quran. Both Islam and Christianity have sacred sites that they look upon for praying and remember their god. Christians believe that there is only one god. The major belief for the Christians is the ten commandments. The first commandment is there shall be no other god then god himself. The second commandment is you will not make any idols. You will not take the word “lord” your god in vain is the third commandment. The fourth stats that Christians will remember Sabbath day to keep it holy. The fifth says you will honor your mother and father. You will not murder is the sixth, the seventh runs along with the sixth saying you will not commit adultery. The eighth is you will not steal. The ninth commandment is you will not bear false witness against the neighbors. The last commandment is you will not covert. Muslims believe that their god is a one and only, he is very unique. God has no partner because nobody is equal to him. Islam also believes in the five pillars of Islam. The first pillar is the testimony of faith. Prayer is the second pillar. Muslims perform five different prayers throughout the day. The third is that they provide money for the people who are in need of money. Fasting the month of Ramadan is the fourth pillar. The last pillar is the pilgrimage to Makkah. Islam and Christianity believe in many different things. Islam believes in the five pillars and Christians believe in the ten commandments.
