emotionally abused. When she was fifteen, she found her mother dead from a drug overdose. She later moved into the room that she found her mother dead in and was forced to sleep in the same exact bed for a couple of months.
Mental Status Examination Reported Symptomology Christina does not focus well in school and she often loses interest and will get out of her seat constantly. She has a major problem with stealing and shows no remorse for her actions. During her interview, Christina said, “it feels good when stealing.” She began stealing when she was in elementary school. Christina admitted to using threats of suicide when she is getting into trouble in order to get out of it. She shared that she has never actually been serious about following through with these threats nor does she have a plan made. She does not think about hurting people, but she has thought about hurting animals. She shared that she used to get pissed off with her moms cat and even chased it with a vacuum. Vindictiveness
• 8) Has been spiteful or vindictive at least twice in the last six months- Christina has purposely stolen money and personal items from those around her. She feels like she deserves these things too and that it is not fair that she does not have them.
B. The disturbance in behavior is associated with distress in the individual or others in his or her immediate social context (e.g., family, peer group, work colleagues), or it impacts negatively on social, educational, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.
Example: Many of Christina’s behaviors are a direct result of situations that have occurred throughout her life.
C. The behaviors do not occur exclusively during the course of a psychotic, substance use, depressive, or bipolar disorder. Also, the criteria are not met for disruptive mood dysregulation disorder.
Treatment
