In 2007, I, along with a few of my peers, founded the Little Lemon Drop Jr. Guild as a way to give back to our community. Since then, this nonprofit organization has raised thousands of dollars that has gone to support uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Throughout my middle school and high school years, I have been very involved with this group. When I had the opportunity to choose a service placement for this year, I immediately knew I would be doing my service through the Little Lemon Drop Jr. Guild because of my previous involvement with the guild and my passion for the cause the guild supports.

They go by that saying and help many children receive toys for Christmas. They helped many children in Rockaway Beach in Queens New York that were affected by the destruction from Hurricane Sandy, many of the children wouldn’t have Christmas presents due to the destruction and their parents wouldn’t have enough money to get them the presents that they wanted. The people that came up with the idea to help those children were Dominick and Kevin. Dominick is a jazz trumpet player and Kevin is a monster truck driver. Though they were very different, both of them came together and made those kids dreams come true in having a wonderful Christmas.
For the past two years, I have been involved in the Carmax Cares community service month. We provided assistance to the Foster Care Support Foundation in Roswell, Georgia. This organization sends out gently worn closes, shoes and other necessities to support foster care providers in the state of Georgia. We packaged items to be sent out and organized their warehouse inventory. On campus I am an active member of SABAC as well as the Georgia Club.

It was a very merry day in London on December 25, 1853 as the village was filled with laughter and joy as families all around celebrated the ecstatic holiday of Christmas together. Wherever you went you would see people of all nature without a morose (p. 5) attitude celebrating with family, even the most unlikely businessman who the town knew as Ebenezer Scrooge. After the visit from the spirits who helped Scrooge realize it was time to give up his grumpy personality, he was a new man who followed one general precept (p. 51) which was to honor Christmas and gave every inch of his soul to make sure it was enjoyed by everyone as he loved to see the jovial (p. 26) expressions of joyous children and adults which was brought by the holiday. The Grinch Who Stole Christmas The Grinch who stole Christmas is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books and one of my favorite Christmas movies. I found 3 things similar to one another in the book and the movie which had the Grinch who hated Christmas, the Who’s who loved Christmas, and the Grinch stole all of the presents and food. One identical thing I found in the movie and book was that the Grinch hated Christmas. If they didn’t put the Grinch’s hate for Christmas in both the book and, he would have no reason to steal Christmas and it wouldn’t have been a very good movie.
A Christmas Carol Literary Analysis Essay “Today I choose life, every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain... To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices - today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.” - (Kevyn Aucoin).

The sound of birds chirping garishly outside my window, wakens me from a deep slumber. Opening my eyes, I see the morning sun’s rays illuminating my room. I’m longing for sleep to engulf me back into its warm embrace. My father ruins any hope of going back to sleep as he hollers upstairs that breakfast is ready. Standing up and doing a morning stretch is when I first smell it.
Christmas plays a huge role in every kid’s childhood, but not every kid is fortunate enough to have one. No matter what situation my family has been in I was always fortunate to wake up Christmas morning to gift under the tree, but now I understand that Christmas is not about what you get, but about what you are able to give back. To play a part in something as beautiful as in helping a kid have a better childhood really touched my heart and helped me see past the material things in life. Often people take for granted that they have gifts under the tree, or the luxury of having an iPhone, or nice clothes, but never stop to realize that there are people in the same community that don’t even have the luxury of waking up to a hot meal or clean clothes to wear. I can see, that a small personal gift under the tree can bring joy to a kid’s life, but it is also much more.
