What intrigues me about this course is the structure that it will be taught in. I look forward to having discussions with people who both agree and oppose my views, yet will be held to a standard of reason and respect when they do so. I also look forward to learning about the life and philosophy of Jesus Christ since a lot of what he said can be applied to America today in regards to the rich and poor.
What I know about christology is that it is the study of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Gospel of the New Testament. I want to take this course to learn more about Christ and his impact on society.
My experience with attending La Salle has created the biggest impact in my life. At La Salle, I have met many people who challenged my thinking and belief system through their ability to create reasonable and respectful arguments. I am very dedicated to learning all that I can so that I will be prepared for college and I see this class as especially important for my future. As a veteran of an intensive honors and advanced placement schedule, I see the work load that I will receive in this class as not an issue compared to what I have been capable of in the past.
In college, I plan to continue religious studies. I am very fascinated with world cultures and I see religion as one of the greatest driving forces in development of culture. By taking Honors Christology, I will be able to get a head start by studying a very important religion and the figure who started it. This class is also appealing because of the structure that it will be taught in. The class seems to be designed for high level discussion and independent study of the subject matter.
