The movie, “Cinderella Man” is a film based around a family during the Great Depression. James Braddock who is the main character is a wrestler who has faced many struggles through career. Before the Great Depression, the Braddock family had money and was living a good life. Then, money started declining when James Braddock lost his job as a fighter and when the Great Depression hit, the family had to do all they could to save money and food. James Braddock did not give up, he faced his problems and overcame them. I feel I relate most to James Braddock because I am the type of person who does not give up. This was a struggle for me because me and my brother have a special bond. We see eachother everyday. When I heard my brother was leaving, I started to cry uncontrollably. The thought of my brother leaving for almost 9 months made me very upset. I felt as if a piece of me was leaving. To overcome this, me and my parents planned some trips to see him. We also called and texted him everyday. On people’s birthday’s we would video chat him when we sang happy birthday. Then my brother came back and we were all happy to have him back. An obstacle I know I will have to face after leaving Fontbonne is missing my family. I might not move away, but I will not see them as much. If I do move away, it will be even worse. I am a very family oriented person and I am lost without my family. My family is my support system and I try to spend as much time with them as I can. To overcome this obstacle, I will make time for my family. I will do my school work as soon as it is assigned and study for tests in advance so that I can spend more time with my family. If I go away to college, I will make trips on weekends and holidays to visit for as long as my can. I will cherish the time I have with my family and take advantage of my time off to visit
