Cinderella is not just an ordinary fairytale. Many know Cinderella as a jolly fairytale, but those are only some versions of Cinderella. The “Grimms Brothers” version of Cinderella is an example of a gruesome version of Cinderella because it involves violent scenes such as cutting off toes, heels, and pigeons picking out eyes. The Little Golden Book and 2015 Disney film of Cinderella are ones majority of people know because of the jolly endings. There are resemblances and dissimilarities when it comes to “Cinderella”, by the Grimm Brothers, Cinderella by Little Golden Book, and Disney’s 2015 film version of “Cinderella”, that connect to positive and negative themes, the Magical Garden, as well as the present Animal Helpers.

In the “Grimm Brothers” story, Cinderella approaches the garden for help, so that she could go to the ball. For example when she was at the garden she cries out, “Shake and quiver, little tree, throw gold and silver down to me” (Grimms para 32). “Then the bird threw a gold and silver dress down to her” (Grimms para 33). So when the threw down the dress, she was able to go to the ball. In the film and Little Golden Book, Cinderella approaches there and weeps to release her emotions, but does not go there to receive a dress. In the film and Little Golden Book, Cinderella meets the Godmother who transforms her into a foreign princess. In the film she comes at first as a old woman asking for bread and milk, but later then transforms into a Fairy Godmother. In the Little Golden Book she comes already as a Fairy Godmother, and in the Grimms version there is no Godmother. It was only birds who came and supported Cinderella. When the father is going to a fair he asks Cinderella what she would like and she replies with “The first twig that brushes against your hat..” (Grimms para 11). When he brings it back she goes ahead and plants it into the garden and grows into a beautiful tree, but in the Little Golden Book the father dies early and does not bring back her a twig. Through the contrasting versions, various events and actions took place in the Garden, which makes it play a huge role of how each are similar and
