The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is an award for the companies that have implemented successful management systems. TMBNQA is presented president of United States every year. There are six categories such as manufacturing, service company, small businesses, education, healthcare and nonprofit. My first company/organization selection is City of Irving, Texas which is nonprofit organization. City of Irving is the 2012 Award recipient on nonprofit category. Irving is a city that located between Dallas and Fort Worth. Irving is the 13th most populated city in Texas. Since 2007, The City of Irving is one of the five cities in the states and 89 in the nation that is earning AAA rating. Irving has the second lowest in the Dallas-Forth Worth area. As far as the tax revenue goes, Irving exceeds two comparable area cities about 75 million dollar. …show more content…

Irving mails surveys to random household citizens, they also make these surveys available online. After gathering these feedbacks, Irving administers work for future improvements. Overall quality rating in Irving is about 74 percent which is higher than the state of Texas and United States government. Surveys show that overall quality of life has increased from %52 to %71 in 6 years. Also another important fact is that the number of complaints resolved at the time reaches the best it can be in today’s world. City of Irving can resolve more than %90 of the complaints call. Team work is one of the major things to become successful, City of Irving managed to create great team culture. Irving established 50 cross functional teams for accomplishing work and strategic goals.
