Disadvantages Of Genetic Engineering

We cannot imagine our life without genetic engineering. Genetic engineering it is science which is interested in studying the genetic makeup of living creatures, from the plant , animal and human, in order to know the laws that govern the qualities genetic of these creatures, hoping to intervene in those qualities positive intervention, and modify or repair the defects. The role of genetic engineering is an attempt to collect recipes Useful taken from the living organisms and transferred to another organism, and this is done by isolating the responsible genes and then added it to the new organism, which earns new character ,and function that has never possessed previously .which mean than genetic engineering has many advantages and …show more content…

According toPeter,J(2005)“cloning is the process of making similar population or genetically identical individuals from the original”. So cloning is the process of raising the production of cells in all living organisms, and making identical copies of it. According to Ahmed,M(n.d) Cloning is very important for industrial enzymes and pharmaceutical drugs such as human growth hormones, clotting factor and insulin which were produced by cloning process. Insulin is the most popular example of cloning, because a huge amount of insulin is produced to cover the high need of it around the world. Cloning of insulin is done by inserting the DNA of insulin in specific place in Bacteria (plasmid: DNA throat, there is independent of the DNA in the bacterial chromosome and double independently of the bacterial chromosome) which duplicates very quickly so a high amount of insulin is produced .Another point to add about cloning is According to mark (2007) cloning can save many animals from extinction by conserving the DNA and the egg or sperm and cloning it again. According to David(2004) cloning can increase the production of animals and plants to provide more food to cover all the needs around the world and to avoid famines. So scientists tend to use cloning to increase the production of plants and animals. A successful example of the first cloned animals was the sheep “Dolly” this process happened in 1996.Tt was the first …show more content…

Increasing population around the world form a major crisis due to lack of availability of food to provide the need of food for increasing number of people especially in poor communities, so the food is provided by genetic engineering ,the problem has fixed by providing the needs of food in poor countries in terms of increased in the production in the developed countries so the extent of their production are giving to the poor countries and this large production of crops because of the availability of new technologies Special to increase production and improve the quality and nutritional value, and disease and pest control and improved genetic traits for crop varieties. According to Parrlberg.R(2001) there are many advantages of modified crops ,such as increasing the nutritional value of the food by adding some vitamins such as adding vitamin A to the gold rice .Another example of genetically modified crops is Corn which is genetically modified to resist various herbicides and to express a protein from bacillus that kills certain insects. Another advantages is that it increase the shelf life for the crops for example tomatoes and apple crops .one of the most important advantage modified crops is that plant can beer
