Penn State football is a major brand with a very large fan base. Many areas of the school benefit from the large amount of revenue generated by the success of the football program. One of the major factors in the Penn State scandal was blind loyalty to one individual with total disregard for the children and the lives he was destroying. Many believe the four individuals that had the control to step in and stop this from happening either did not do so for fear of destroying the program or the hopes that it would somehow stop on its own (Crandall 2013). Jerry Sandusky was a top assistant and defensive mastermind for thirty years with Joe Paterno as the head coach.
Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. In the Glass Castle, Jeannette Walls analyzed her mother’s emotional breakdowns. In general, I don’t believe that juveniles can be born evil or bad. Environmental factors carry a lot of weight when it comes to how children develop and grow into adults. However, in the uniquely gritty case of Willie Bosket, I believe it’s safe to say that if there were ever a case of a child being “born bad”, then Willie definitely meets the mark. When looking back at his lengthy family history filled with extreme deviance and outright violence, you can quite easily see that Willie fits right into the mold that was created long before he was even born. I think that a lot of Willie’s violent and criminal tendencies were learned from what he was exposed to while growing up.
In today’s society, we have former National Football League(NFL) quarterback Collin Kapernick who’s no longer in the NFL because of his protest against racial inequality. However, many people believe he is no longer in the NFL because of his talent. Kapernick led the 49ers to Super Bowl 47. Although they didn’t win, he threw for 302 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 62 yards. Therefore, he didn’t get kicked out of the league because he wasn’t good enough, but for sitting down during the national anthem.
As a human sometimes we come come across ideas in our head that seem so right or perfect at some points but in reality they are so wrong in different ways, as it is life we also seem to stumble into thing in our path. Sometimes I think of doing somethings that in my mind they play out right but as soon as someone else hears them they think of them stupid and I would listen but; Chris did not even want to listen to the advice that was given to him and thought he was smarter and more knowledgeable. I agree Callarman when he said that “Chris makes a lot of mistakes based on arrogance”.
The question of morality in a criminal case has always been a topic of concern. A question arises when considering the following; does a good cause justify a serious crime? In John Brown’s case, he uses the abolitionist’s cause to justify the murder of several men. Though his intentions were good, and his cause was mighty, it’s not morally sound to murder people. Many would argue that he was a hero, that fighting for the end of slavery in the manner he did was an act of bravery.
In life some feel the need to prove something to others. That they are better, stronger, or even more intelligent. Whatever the case may be people will go through extreme measures to prove themselves. But who do we really need to prove anything to? Is it our parents?
The story of Jerry Sandusky has been all over news outlets since 2009, it had come to light that Sandusky was sexually abusing boys on the Penn State Football team. Sandusky was convicted in 2011 with a hefty sentence that put him in jail for over 50 years. It was difficult for many to believe the news reports on Penn State and the Sandusky scandal. Especially for the residents of State College, Pa. There were, and still are numerous articles fabricating stories about Penn State, Sandusky, and Paterno.
People rebel when no justice being served. It is understandable why people act a certain way. Have you ever loved someone more than yourself? A person is your biggest pride and joy to be safe? Can you imagine how it feels to no longer have your pride and joy with in a split second, due to the way they look?

Forty five days is how long it took the United States Congress to pass a law that gave up the very concept of liberty upon which this country is founded. Nathanial Hawthorne's Young Goodman Brown is a story about a man who sets off on a journey into the woods. Through the journey, he questiones his own beliefs and encounters with lots of strange things which ends up in losing his virtue and faith at all. The journey turns into a self-discovery rather than just going for a walk. In the story, he says farewell to his wife Faith ,when leaving his house . She does not want her husband to leave but she has to say goodbye in hesitation.
