Gabrielle Chanel was notably never married but she was surrounded by powerful men, and because of this she had an important tool in helping her build a fashion empire. Her designs were focused on not just want women wanted but also what they needed. In 1926 the famous Little Black dress was born and with that also the biggest transformation of fashion. Chanel was also known for introducing trousers as well as suits; ladies fashion stated to become interesting and breath-taking. It started to reflect more than just fashion, it was a start of a new era, fashion styles came to reflect personalities and lifestyle. The expression ‘fashion designers’ started to progress in to its actual meaning, as designers such as Chanel who start on making a name for themselves and have a new meaning of life to fashion. Clothing was no longer under the control of males regarding the ‘Idealistic woman’, it set off to be more practical but only for women and their suitability. Chanel said once that she has ‘’freed the body’’, with her designs. and she completely ignored the expected norms of society and men. She created freedom, realism and comfort with an elegant and beautiful style. She has also ‘’crafted the most well-known style in the world because fashion is ephemeral but style is
