Cohort Reflection

One of the positive sides of having Cohort connections whether it’s in the classroom or externally, is understanding that I’m not the only one pursuing my doctoral degree. It’s knowing others in my classroom or even those, who once took the course previously have all faced the same challenges. Take for example, I’m a fellow veteran and all veterans at the begin stages of their military career all went through boot camp. It was there that you learned the meaning of honor, loyalty, and integrity, and basically what it takes to be member of the armed forces. But knowing when I need to ask for help or if someone else needed assistance, it was always there. I knew that I wouldn’t be the only one dealing with the stress and physical commitment during that time, it helped me and my fellow brothers in arm mentally and physically during that timeframe.

Transitioning the same mentality towards the doctoral program, understanding the resources are there, in case I’m ever faced with a challenge that I need to seek help.
