As a student in high school, life was dramatic and challenging. I was not ready to face huge changes during my freshmen year, and I often thought life was as easy as breezing through a straight tunnel. Then, I started seeing many gifted and talented students struggle and fall behind in high school, and I feared that I would be the next victim in line. Gradually, I learned step by step to grow and adjust to the changing environment, like a metamorphosis from a caterpillar to a butterfly. I became more determined to earn success in academics and athletics; most importantly, I found out who I am: a small girl with a big heart to change the world. “And though, she be but little, she is fierce” (Shakespeare, Midsummer’s Night Dream). I have big dreams of attending a college near the coast of South Carolina, and I have decided that College of Charleston is a wondrously college that I would love to attend. I can see myself as a prospective student here, walking with purpose down the hallways of buildings, and the streets of the campus. Though, I am small, my heart is big; I love to take every opportunity that is opened to me, since some opportunities only come once in lifetime. I embrace diversity, and I welcome all people of all colors. I am self- trained to cope with all challenges, big and small. Having a rigorous education and student-life at College of Charleston will help me grow even more in my leadership skills, and as a future family medicine doctor, as well as my identity. I am committed to helping out in my community in any way I could.
