For many people, University is the choice that begins the rest of their life. For me, applying to an IT based course was the best choice because I would love to make a career out of it. The reason I feel IT is right for me, is the enjoyment I receive from the plethora of learning practices that have the potential to take me down numerous paths in life. I can approach a variety of different sub sections within the ever-growing IT industry, thus helping me expand my knowledge and at the same time develop new skills.
As a secondary student, IT attracted me with its many different areas and practices that allow for in-depth learning. I became particularly fond of IT during my GCSE's when working on an individual project that contained elements such as design, research and project management. This led me to take on an IT course at college that showed me which subsections were my favourites, namely coding and troubleshooting, which particularly caught my attention.

During my time at college, I learned about different types of coding, along with which code is used in certain areas, and how software works based on this. I feel like I would excel in this course due to being able to work well under pressure and communicate effectively while working under certain time constraints. Outside of my Extended Diploma, I have spent countless hours troubleshooting and maintaining my own personal PC build along with other family members devices. This has become a passion over the past 3 years and I am currently in the process of designing and building a new PC with newer components and features to learn more about this
