Web Development Goals

I have decided to apply for this degree as I want to pursue a career in web development. During my BTEC Software Development Diploma I discovered that my interests and strengths were in the creation of and exploration of websites rather than other aspects of the course. I understand and enjoy the subject more than any other unit in the course because I find it a very interesting mixture of technical knowledge and creative design. Before enrolling on the course I taught myself HTML and CSS from www.codeacademy.com which established and developed my skills and interest and helped me to understand the subject in a more detailed way. Not only this, but the understanding of the technicalities to make the websites work and the use of coding is something that interests me too. It felt very intuitive to me when I was first introduced to the construction of websites in high school using Dreamweaver. Ever since then I have considered a future in websites and/or apps to be a possible option for my career choice. I have created websites in my current course too in the client side scripting unit and overall I enjoyed that too. There were some problems in the process but eventually they were overcome with the help of the teacher and the resources in the college. I have used Photoshop for a considerable amount of time too and I have enjoyed its use and can see the possibility of using Photoshop as a tool in this course. The importance of an organisation having a website that is of high quality is very clear to me as I have spent time on a considerable number of websites and I can see the weaknesses easily.
