Web Design Course Analysis

762 Words4 Pages

Taking a web design course was not as I planned it to be. I thought that I was going to automatically go into designing a web page, become a pro web designer, make astonishing web sites, but that didn't happen. I had to start from the base. I read the story of the internet and how the internet came about. It was fascinating to see how the internet was created and the procedures it had went through.

After that, I learned about Hyper Text Markup Language abbreviated as HTML. I was flabbergasted to see that after I typed in a few tags on my notepad, it appeared on my browser. I was so enthusiastic, showed my family members and was ready to learn more. Then, after a couple of more lessons, I learned how to design my web page with something called …show more content…

I learned that great web sites succeed over others due to their navigation, ability to fulfill the purpose of the web site and how appealing the site is to it's viewers.

Correspondingly, the final projects of the course actually helped me design my own site. So, I took the challenge and started to design and construct my own site.

I have designed a web page for a certain purpose. I wanted to test my skills in web design and take the challenge. So, I needed make my site have a goal. My goal was that whomever would visit my web page and then starts to read the articles found within it, may have a basic understanding of what math is. My other goal was to help people whom dislike math to regain confidence in the subject and find out why math is so important.

After designing my web page, I turned to my two sisters, whom always find a way in giving the advice I need, and asked a few questions regarding my web page. I let each sister read my site and once they had finished I asked them the following questions separately;

1. What do you think the purpose of this site …show more content…

Do you think that this site is going to get satisfaction from it's viewers?
5. How does this site make you feel about the topic?
6. How do you see the navigation of this site as, is it hard to navigate your way through the site?
7. What would you suggest as a viewer to be changed in this site and why?

After interviewing the both of them, I had found out that my site turned out to be appealing, satisfactory and most of all, my viewers found out the main purpose of my site. I also found out that I needed to make a few changes and here's why.

One, I needed to change the size of the font. This was because Zakia could not see the text presented in the site properly. She is an example of other future viewers who may have a problem in reading text with small font. For this purpose, I changed the size of the font in my web page.
Another problem, was that I needed to use transitional words. This would make the flow of my site turn out to be even better, in which is exactly what I need to have a better site.

After making the changes considered, I found out that my web page was even better. I took the feed backs of my viewers honestly and did my best to add the missing elements. Overall, my web page is better than before, it fulfills it's purpose, brought satisfaction to my viewers, was appealing and is
