INTERNAL MEDICINE PS- 1 After completing my med school , I wanted to pursue a career that could make a drastic difference in my patient’s health. emergency medicine naturally came to mind when thinking of saving lives. During my residency training in emergency medicine in India, I thrived on the many challenges it brought. Each time our team stabilized or saved a patient, the feeling was exhilarating. It took some time for me to travel, settle down and adjust to the new environment. After that I rotated in clinics and hospitals where I gained the necessary exposure to the US healthcare system. During these rotations, I was impressed by the systematic and evidence based approach to patient care and support from social workers. Under the supervision of my preceptor, I gained hands-on experience in examination, management, electronic documentation and counselling patients of all age groups.
