The intricate beauty of the science of the human body and what complexities it has and can achieve completely captivates me. To widen my intellectual aptitude by studying my true passion of medicine, providing me with the endowed skills of saving an individual’s life, is what amongst many other aspects, gives me the determination to study medicine and progress into becoming a doctor. I have experienced firsthand the fascinating work of multiple health professions, both within a hospital setting and a Group Practice as part of my work experience. However, amongst all roles available, the role of a doctor is what I am inspired to be. I have had demonstrated to me the conflicting emotions you can experience in such a dynamic environment, not only during the life saving hour of surgery, or the incredibly fast and complex consultations, but the high quality of care and compassion doctors provide to all their patients, which results in such effective care being encountered for. What particularly left an impact on me was the high level of empathy given to all patients, and how all the teams working within the clinic demonstrated such strong team working skills, effective communication and remained professional throughout. I have high amounts of responsibility within my role; teaching groups of young people with a range of different abilities essential first aid skills, enabling me to pass on my scientific knowledge of the human body and basic medical knowledge, benefiting not only the young people, but the wider community. By volunteering with St John Ambulance, this has given me the opportunity to enhance my leadership skills, being able to realise possible limitations and to gather my team together to put forward
