Motivation and drive are amazing things that can enable someone to succeed and fulfill long term goals. Psychology can explain how this may affect our attitude and behaviours which helps me understand how to move towards my long term goal of becoming a pharmacist. Throughout my journey in high school, I have longed to become a pharmacist, lead my own pharmacy and become a part of a team of pharmacy professionals. In order to achieve this goal, I plan to attend university in Kamloops far from my home of Port Alberni. Although these towns have similar environments, Kamloops is far more adventurous and exhilarating to me as I will be experiencing life on my own. From a very young age, I have never excelled at sports and physical fitness. Throughout my school years, PE class was a struggle, and I found it hard to keep up. After Grade 11, PE finally became an elective, which caused me to breathe a gigantic sigh of relief, however, after a short few months, I realized how unfit I was becoming compared to other students. After another 3 months, I finally decided to join my local gym. It was very challenging at first, but I did not let this deter my drive towards becoming healthier and more fit. As I became healthier, I discovered a sport that interested me: field hockey. As I watched young women and men engage in this sport, I found it exhilarating and challenging, and this changed my outlook on fitness. I then emailed a few field hockey coaches and found some training routines that could help me prepare me for this sport. Hopefully, I can join a Kamloops team while going to university next year. I realize how important this is, and I am now embracing my new healthy
