The zone is a social setting for the young people and my volunteering here has broadened my knowledge about the importance of such places in every community in Britain. I now understand the importance of positive mentoring in the lives of the young people. I have acquired knowledge that will help me in my chosen course of study and also learned that commitment goes a long way in mentoring and coaching the young people. I can confidently deliver speeches at seminars/workshops, and forums with good communication skills. In addition, I have another organisation I can use as a job reference.

Evidence of reflection on your learning experiences

My work as a mentor for the young people enabled me to learn the rudiments of some of the behaviours of the young people and causes of these behaviours. It also made me understand the importance of positive relationships for the young people. This contributions should be appreciated more by the government.The fundamental issues with policy as regards volunteering include :recognition of volunteers and voluntary organizations, making resources available for the organization , cooperation with the government, and between voluntary organizations and also been able to evaluate the framework of these voluntary organisations,( social impact of volunteerism )The government needs to come up with policies that will promote volunteer management practices, Promote maintain and develop agreed monitoring and evaluating systems and also Promote sustainable funding mechanism to ensure project sustainability and self-reliance.
