A dream is a reflection of hopes and possibilities but without inspiration, motivation and encouragement it leads to an unfilled passion. What one hopes to become is built on the foundation of the upbringing and lifestyle because inspiration comes from within and from the surrounding. Surrounded by water and raised in wildlife was the lifestyle I accepted and cherish as a child; this lifestyle gave me hope and the possibility to dream. It created a young woman whom was filled with confidence, imagination and optimism. Jamaica, the land of beauty and inspiration. The wildlife brought about a dream of using the pleasant wildlife as the foundation of probable medicine. The variety, sustainability and historical uses were stimulating to my mind. Henceforth, I was inspired to become a health professional who seeks to use my knowledge of such herbs, grass and angiosperms to create effective medicine and topical care. With the motivation and inspiration I gained from growing up in such wonderful country I became to dream beyond my lifetime and into future generations about what my contribution could possible lead to. I was only 12 years old at the time and as my mom continued to state to me “you are a child and you have time to decide your future;” I became more suppressed with my imagination. As--- would say, “When there is a dream, there is hope;” Although I fell in a state of discouragement, I was still opened the possibility to learn more and hence, I became a member of the Junior Doctors Academy sponsored by the University of Connecticut. It was through this program I gained encouragement, the final step to finalize my dream. I stumbled upon a presentation about medical careers and a young woman presented herself as a pharmacist.
