I was born on September 15th in 2001. I was born 4 days after one of the worst attacks in U.S. history. And in the days and months after my birth, the country was more patriotic than it had been in the past couple decades. Patriotism has intertwined itself with me since the day I was born, and every year, near my birthday I am reminded that there is something much larger than me, and that is this great country. I cannot wait to grow and see what I can do to further better my home country. The next trait, honor, is extremely hard to define. But, I try to live my life honorably by being honest, respecting people, having integrity, and honoring others. I feel that leadership is my strongest quality, and that I have been blessed with a gift, and that it is to lead. By example, and by my voice. This year I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit and ran for student body president. The speech in front of everyone in the school was not something I looked forward to but I planned a well written speech and ended up winning. I have also been enrolled in leadership class this year after being sought out by two teachers. These two opportunities have really helped me leave my mark on the school. This year I have had the privilege to help put on a school dance, a three-on-three basketball tournament, a few school spirit events, multiple school fundraisers, and am currently planning the annual eighth Grade Staff Vs. Student Basketball game which I plan on coaching. However, my leadership extends much further than just the classroom, I play two sports, football and baseball, and also go to cheer on my friends’ basketball team.
