The American Dream What is the American dream? Throughout America’s history, people have thrived for this dream, the dream of opportunity, success, and stability. Every American wants this dream, and has the ability to accomplish it, but it does not come easy. It takes perseverance and dedication to reach it. The American dream that I believe in, is still possible today with the goal of obtaining opportunity, success, and stability. The American dream is having opportunity, success, and stability. Americans want the opportunity to have freedom; freedom of religion and freedom of speech. Americans also want to be successful. They want success in their career and in their life. I want to be successful. I want to graduate high school and then college. I aspire to become an accomplished lawyer, and make enough money to do the things that I want to do. Once I am going steady with my job, I want to settle down, fall in love, get married, and then eventually have children. I want two to three kids, one of them being a boy, and the other a girl. I would like my son to play little league sports, and for my daughter to do ballet. Most importantly, I want my kids to be well supported, and have the opportunity to do special things, such as go on vacations and go to interesting events. I want to live in a safe neighborhood and to have a pretty good size house with a big backyard. I want to be able to invite my family and friends over for cookouts to watch football games on Saturdays, and meals on the holidays. Also, I want to grow old with my husband, and be able to retire at a decent age, so that I can relax and enjoy the company of my children, and hopefully grandchildren. One very important part of the American dream is freedom of religion. I want my family to be able to go to any church they want, and to be able to worship freely. All of these things are what my ideal American dream would look
