Have you ever considered what life would be without media? Or how influential the media can be? I find it inspiring and fascinating how the media industry works and develops an influence over people's minds. "All media exist to invest our lives with artificial perception and arbitrary values." Marshall McLuhan's states media is all around us; it gives us a sense of being, media is our own gratification which we can't get rid of and I strongly agree with that. I want to be able to become a catalyst for change and challenge society's norms and values as our generation is progressing. I am intrigued by the creativity and vision media brings to us. I have developed an interest in the broad concept of how information is communicated through society as a whole in this dynamic digital age. The practical side of Media has also fascinated me as it contains a range of platforms such as directing and developing digital technology which has inspired me to follow my ambitions in media production. I am determined to go into production because it encapsulates creativity and entertainment. I have created a portfolio for my Media Studies blog which involves filming, directing and editing a film opening. I gained an incredible amount of experience by working on my portfolio for two years whilst meeting every deadline. Working individually and as a group has enhanced my capabilities to plan and innovative the practical work in production. Nevertheless, I have also worked on the theory-based side of media by doing research for my portfolio, such as researching & creating experimentations, analytic reflection and self-critique of media
