As Benjamin Franklin once eloquently stated, “There are two certainties in life, taxes and death,” and countless people in this world can attest to this fact. While the above-mentioned certainties are a fact of life, there are other significant moments retained in the brain, and they usually resurface just prior to one’s death. Some of these moments or acts, however diminutive, should improve the lot of others. My parents sacrificed a great deal to provide a decent and privileged life to my brother and me. Not only did I learn sacrifice from them, I imbibed the core values of compassion, responsibility, tolerance, and patience from them. I acquired the qualities of perseverance and tenacity from my brother, who, in the face of significant struggles, succeeded in achieving his goal. All the efforts of my parents, brother, and teachers led me to be a higher quality individual today. Even though these acts of kindness by my family and teachers seem to be nanoscopic, they improved my life drastically. A digital clock was the object of my first experiment. I tried to disassemble it to understand its inner workings. Even though I failed to put it back together, I learned to comprehend how digital clocks worked. From an exceptionally young age, I started learning about computers and their applications. My romance with technology continued into my teenage years, which led me to pursue computer science in my undergraduate studies.
