I 've met so many talented and amazing people. I loved and had my heart broken. I 've even lost people close to me. But all of that has shaped me to be he person I am today. Someone who can love so hard that it hurts.

I am (and I have been) pretty much a loner because of it. I can become easily overwhelmed by the diverse energy and input of too many people.
In my mind I thought I had it all figured out. How could I go from one day knowing everything to knowing nothing about myself? I have heard people say, "Nobody can know you better than you know yourself." Well of course, how can others know me, if I have completely lost myself and the meaning of where I wanted to go? My transition to college has made me not being able to define who I am.
The Education in Zion exhibit filled me with the Spirit of God and allowed a lot of time to self-reflect on my personal choices. Who am I? What is my heritage? Why was I sent here, and why now? What do I want to leave my future students with?
I am fortunate enough to have worked hard my first year of college, and received an academic scholarship. I always credit my upbringing for who I am as a person. Growing up in the military life allowed me to see the world, and have a better understanding of different cultures. Staying out of trouble was instilled into my brain, and still applies now. The competitiveness with my sister made us stronger, smarter, closer, and our education had made us both better people.
There is so much behind the question, “Who am I?” that I have researched, questioned,
“Who am I?” “Who are you?” Does anyone really know the answer to these questions? The answer is: very few. Very few people can develop a sense of self.
I am a result of my family, faith, and educational experiences around the world and across the country. Throughout my entire life I have lived and travelled to many different parts of the world and from that my education and experiences from my time in England and Europe, Arizona, and in South Carolina have shaped my into the person I am today and helped me figure out the type of person I want to strive to be in the future. Before I had even begun my primary years in education I had already moved from South Carolina to Georgia and over to Colorado, but the biggest change came when my family and I moved across the Atlantic Ocean to England. I started my education in a small village primary school affiliated with the local church, which influenced the curriculum and teaching methods contrasting the practices of the American education system. Another unique view impressed on me early in my education was that the STEM approach to education did not create a well-rounded student that would be an innovator and beneficial member of society and the university route was not the only means to make a future.

I am who I am but who exactly is that? I know who I am through identity. Identity shapes how I act, the choices I make, and how I think. Identity is developed through many influences, some that I can control and I cannot. One of my first influences is my moral values.
People often describe me as a loving, friendly, and quiet person. These characteristics may be due to the fact of what I value most in life. What I value most gives me a reason to do the things I do or act the way I do. Furthermore, they are the sole purpose as to why I continue with my life and why I am the person I am today. The things I appreciate that shape me as a person are family, reading, music, health, movies/tv shows, and of course friends.
Just like my identity, I think each individual is a work in progress and packed with possibilities. I am inclined to make sacrifices that benefit others and put their needs before mine. It is difficult for me to “blow things off” because letting people down is one of my biggest fears. I value others and put them in high regard, and this has helped me become a more loyal and genuine person. My friends constantly come to me for advice knowing that I am willing to listen and help them however I can.
These personality trates make me who I am. Another thing about personalities are the qualities that you possess. For example, my qualities are very close to my personality type. I have a kindness in me along with the forgiveness
The question posed in the title, “Who am I?” is very simple but the answers are never so. What defines me as who I am as a person today are relatively my attitude, my personal values and beliefs to life that developed throughout my life. “Values are constructs that we hold as important and beliefs are constructs that we hold to be true (Collins & Chippendale, 1995)”. Meanwhile, attitudes are relatively lasting clusters of emotions, beliefs, and behavior tendencies directed towards specific ideas, people or objects (Baron & Byrne, 1984). Generally, my family members, friends and the experiences I had contribute to my sense of who I am and how I view the world.
