484 Words2 Pages

The book that I chose to read was “The Color Purple”. The book was set around the early 20th century. The story is narrated by a young women named Celie. In the beginning of the story, Celie’s mom is deathly ill. Her mother is dating a guy named Fonso, but he isn’t an upright guy. He tries to have sex with Celie’s mother, but she isn’t in the right disposition for it. He keeps trying to force her to have sex with him, but she just isn’t strong enough. Since he doesn’t get it from his girlfriend, he looks at Celie. Eventually, Fonso molests Celie several times and gets her pregnant. This makes me think that he has raped multiple young women. If Fonso would rape his own daughter, then I’m nervous to see what else he would do. I predict that he will get her pregnant again, but won’t take care of the baby. Next, her mom passes away and he kills Celie’s baby. Celie gets pregnant again by him, so my prediction was correct. Everyone wondered where the 2nd baby went and Celie thinks that he sold the baby to someone in Monticello. I believe that only an evil and despicable person could kill their own kid. …show more content…

Mr. _______ tried to ask for Nettie’s hand in marriage, but he said no. I believe that Fonso wants Nettie for herself. He told Mr. _______ that he could never have Nettie, but he could have Celie. Fonso always talks about Celie not being pure, but that is only because he is a horrible father and raped
