The Communist Manifesto was originally published in 1848 as a reaction to the changing times of the Industrial Revolution. Written by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels, both of whom were German theorist, the Manifesto sought to clearly lay out the positions and goals of the Communist League. The short tract was translated into many languages to unite the many socialist movements of Europe. The composition has since become the defining work of Marx and Engels. Drastic changes in innovation and urbanization during the Industrial Revolution led Karl Marx and Frederick Engels to call for a radical reaction by the proletariat.
Communism, like it's right-wing counterpart fascism, is not just a force of political turmoil. It's a force of nature, rooted in the flaws of humanity. A movement built on the ideas of only two men, but passionate enough in it's message that it spread from two to millions. Whether those two men, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, were smart is entirely subjective. Like any cult of personality, they're intellegent in their own right.

This text mainly focused on the struggles that the two social classes faced during the Industrial Revolution. The Bourgeois and Proletarians were the two different social classes in the text the Bourgeois was the middle class workers and owners and the Proletarians were labor workers. The Proletarians wanted to overthrow the Bourgeois because they wanted better working conditions, wages, and more freedom.
