Community Desk Manager

In regards to the positions available in residence life there is a wide variety and one I was particularly drawn to was the position of community desk manager. Thus, in order to learn more about the position I interviewed a staff member and found a plethora of information including what the role of a community desk manager looked like, the benefits of this position and advice from a community desk manager. One key topic discussed during the interview was the role of a community desk manager. The community desk manger has a variety of tasks including being up-p to date on all that has happened via reading a log, sorting mail, accomplishing tasks on a checklist and aiding residents. One benefit of being a community desk manager was how being a community desk manager affected one as a person. Some of the ways in which one can be affected as a community desk manager was aiding in as academics and developing people skills. This position allows for one to focus on schoolwork while not aiding residents or completing daily tasks. This position also aids in developing people skills due to the large amount of time spent interacting with residents and visitors. I feel as though I would love to develop in these areas which is why this position interests me. I have a strong focus on academics and am looking to constantly approve and I enjoy interacting will all types of people. This position also allows for an experience that helps one in professional career development. These are similar in regards to the benefits of the position as it aids in customer service, time management and balancing responsibilities as they are cornerstones required in the position. Personally I feel as these are beneficial skills which I would like to continue developing personally which is why I am interested in pursuing this
