Community policing can be implement throughout the country to help with counterterrorism efforts. The use of local law enforcement to respond to threats of terrorism throughout our country is crucial. Local law enforcement officials are usually first in investigating suspicions of terrorist activities, arresting suspected terrorists, and engaging with them during active situations. When community policing is implemented and adapted with homeland security policies it can help combat terrorism while helping community police relations.

It is also important to support the officers ' with resources such as; language skills to communicate with community members, supporting flexible work hours, choosing proper officers who have the right personalities, having a police substation in the community, and training the officers in terrorism intelligence gathering (Newman, & Clarke, 2010). There is a risk that officers can become too close to the community and become suborned; so it is important to check up on the officers reports, and activities. It may be difficult to implement community policing in immigrant neighborhoods, especially in Arab neighborhoods when there are not many Arab police officers.
