3D Printing

3D printing is printing three dimensional objects through a computer program that makes three dimensional models. 3D printing is an amazing creation that is hard to wrap one’s head around. The technology around it is very complicated, and it can change how the world functions. It can makes things easier for people, by easily making duplicates of an object. But 3D printing can as well have a bad outcome; people are now printing guns, selling the file to others, which makes the guns untraceable due to not having a serial code. Even though 3D printing has been around for decades, it is still advancing and becoming the future.

The concept of printing goes back to the 19th …show more content…

It’s all about how to use the program, even though they do have courses that teaches one how to use 3D programs. It probably is better to take classes, because you learn the roots and how the systems work. Instead of self teaching yourself and making shortcuts. 3D printing can be done by any computer program that can make three dimensional figures some known as computer-aided design (cad). Once one figure out how to use the program and make these object with the right diameter. The printer sees the visual figure, then scans and layers and layers to form the object. If they get in the wrong people's hand and those guns are not traceable it can go very bad, because they won’t be able to trace it back tot eh actual gun and owner They made a undetectable firearms act, where if the gun can not be detected by metal detectors or x ray scanners it is illegal. There is a loophole i this where they just add metal to the 3d printed gun, which is not illegal; butt are finding a way to close this loophole. If someone were to print off a gun, knife, or even a bicycle helmet. What if someone were to shoot another person, stab someone, or even fall off their bike and seriously injure themselves. They will blame the person who manufacture or thought of the idea of those objects
